The presidential cookie cook-off
The American magazine for women "Family Circle" organises a Cookie Cook-Off during every presidential campaign.
The potential first ladies send in a cookie recipe and the readers of the magazine vote which recipe is best. Till now the presidential candidate, whose wife won the Cookie Cook-Off, won the presidency.
The idea for the Cookie Cook-Off was born when one of the potential first ladies said: "I suppose I could have stayed home and baked cookies, but what I decided to do is fulfil my profession."
Family Circle responded with: "Why can't working women bake their cakes and eat them too?" and they organised the Cookie Cook-Off.
